28th Annual Livermore Valley Wine Auction Raises $460,000 for Local Children’s Non-Profits

This year’s donations will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Tracy, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, QUEST and George Mark Children’s House

Livermore Valley, California (September 26, 2022) — The 28th annual Livermore Valley Wine Auction brought together approximately 250 guests on September 17, 2022 for an afternoon of wine tasting and fundraising. The event raised $460,000 to benefit a variety of local non-profits that support the wellbeing of children in the area.

The fund-a-need benefiting the early literacy program at the Boys & Girls Club of Tracy raised over $70,000. A former student in the program gave a heartfelt speech about the life changing impact this program had on him as a child. The other beneficiaries of this year’s event were Sleep in Heavenly Peace,

providing beds for children sleeping on the floor; QUEST, providing science education for local children; and George Mark Children’s House, providing services to children facing life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Eighteen Livermore Valley winemakers were on hand to pour their best wines while guests perused displays that showcased the exciting live auction lot line-up. The live auction delivered on excitement, raising $212,000 with 16 lots plus three large format bottles of Champagne generously donated by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits. One of the top live auction lots of the afternoon was a Concert at Almost Famous Wine Lounge for 200+ guests with the musical talents of Meredith McHenry donated by David & Darcie Kent. Another top lot was called “Party Like It’s 1949!” and includes a private barn dance at a ranch in the Sierra Foothills, complete with catered lunch, live bluegrass music, a dance caller, and luxurious Black Tie limousine transportation for the 40 lucky guests. Auction supporters also bid on 61 exclusive silent auction lots in a complementary virtual auction.

In the spirit of safety, the event was held entirely outdoors in a garden party format that was extremely well received by the attendees. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, with fall sun, cool breezes and jazz music by Matt Finders and Friends greeting the guests.

The Livermore Valley Wine Auction was generously presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union with Jeff and Doris Hank. Additional top sponsors included Black Tie Transportation, The Rose Hotel, Dublin Chevrolet, Gallo Glass, Lam Research, Sensiba San Filippo, Safeway, and World Cooperage.

The mission of the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, is to raise funds to improve the quality of life for under-served local children. For more information, please visit www.lvwf.org or contact Brandi Lombardi, Auction Director, at (925) 380-3380.
